Possible to export Prores4444 with alpha?
on Mar 26, 2015 at 4:35:22 am

I have a feature which game me titles as Prores4444 with alpha which we placed on a track above picture and made slight tweaks to the title track over the course of grading.

Now I'd like to give them a textiles version as well as the title track with alpha.

It seems that Resolve cannot export Prores4444 with Alpha, is this really the case?

I think alpha export is not possible with most of the grading software out there.

I would think that a compositing app only give you that. I, for one, end up re-combining in nuke.

Well, add it to the wish list then...
Must be easy if the Add Alpha Output is used properly.

Unfortunately Nuke wont help me here.

I have a title track which I have modified in Resolve, making adjustments over the course of the DI for the film.

Now I would like to export it for the client along with a textiles master. This is not compositing capability, just need the ability to maintain and export alpha like any "online" editing platform or even an NLE like premiere or FCP.

It seems like this inability to export files with alpha would also break round trips which involve titles with alpha since even if unmodified they will presumably be exported with the alpha not included.

Lets see what Resolve 12 brings :)

Hello, how are u. Did you find a solution to render transparency from Davinci?

I need to color correct 3d renders with lots of transparency (glass for example) then render them with transparency from davinci.

Hope there is a solution to this?
