Caching timeline nodes ?

I am playing around with more and more OFX plugins these days and I wonder if there is a different caching scheme for timeline nodes than there is for clip nodes.
While I can set my render cache to user and mark a bunch of clips that will debayer just fine and apply some fancy Sapphires , i seem unable to cache the whole output.
Am I doing something wrong or missing a function there or is there no "second level' output cache ?

The tricky bit here is that the track nodes get processed after the clip nodes... the clip nodes are meant to be live, so if the clip node is processed on the fly, then to the timeline the clip has been updated, there by negating the track node cache.

I started a thread about this on the Blackmagic forum and got basically the same answer.

It would be great if we could get caching on the timeline or Group Post-Clip grades.
