Recording failed with error: Codec is not opened yet

* EDIT *

I looked through all my raw files and deleted the "/" character from the file name. This appears to be the issue. Is there an option to keep that culprit of a character from getting attached to the file name? Going through every single raw file just to delete one character is time consuming and not fun. :(

Any help is greatly appreciated. Once that character was removed, smooth sailing. Before then, what little hair I have left was about to be yanked out.

I think you've solved your own problem: don't use files that have illegal character names. Most OS's will allow you do search for a specific character directly from the drive's file menu.

[David Mathis] "Is there an option to keep that culprit of a character from getting attached to the file name?"

In my experience, this issue has almost had an exclusively human element involved, so "education" is the primary preventative. Otherwise, there is a handy utility called "Automator" in MacOS that you could deploy to seek-and-destroy -- well re-name -- the offending source files.
Then you would be into a re-connect, which while an additional step, cures a lot of ills.

Get to know Automator if you are on mac.

You can rename thousands of file or folder names in few seconds if you need to remove or replace some
of the characters in file names.

Try to use underscore instead of /.

If you need i can send you even workflow if our Automators mach.

It is really simple drag and drop.
