Conforming with Premiere subclips
on May 12, 2014 at 8:08:39 pm

I've been given a project, made in Premiere CS6 that has quite a few subclips (it was a lengthy factory process that had to be filmed in one shot and then broken down in edit). I've got copies of the original P2 card structure and both an EDL and XML of the timeline, and any spot with subclips it fails with an error about the timecode extents failing to match any clip in the media pool. I'm assuming this is because a premiere subclip is acting sort of like a virtual clip pulled from the larger clip and isn't an actual clip in its own right, but my question is, is there any somewhat easy way to make Resolve recognize these? For this project I was able to get by with Resolve's Scene Detect function, but that isn't always going to be feasible, and it's not really realistic for me to tell people to "just don't use subclips".
