Hey All, we are going to be doing a 2K delivery from Resolve (we are working on Full version 10, Colorist will have full version 10 or 11).
Our workflow for VFX has been:
1 Final DPX brought into Resolve and exported as MXF
2 Cut the MXF into AVID MediaComposer 7.0.3 and copy editor's original effects to the new MXF
3 Export AAF to bring into Resolve
4 In Resolve, Force conform the MXF of the VFX shots back to Final DPX.
All speed changes and repositions from AVID carry over, the issue we have is that when trying to force conform the speed changed MXF to the DPX, we get an error saying "Unable to replace because the replacement clip does not have sufficient content."
We're considering rebuilding the speed changes in Premiere, exporting tif sequences with the speed changes, importing those into AVID and then exporting the AAF to reference those when brought into Davinci.
If anyone has suggestions of how to maintain full quality without having to rebuild the AVID speed changes it would be much appreciated!
