When one has many GPU cards, some with less VRAM than others….

How does it work?

Let's say one need 3 Gigs of VRAM for a particular operation, like NR on Red Epic footage.

In a Cubix, on has one 4 Gig VRAM card, and one that is 2.5 GIGS. How does Resolve "see" this?

A) Resolve cumulates the VRAM, so it's like having 6.5 Gigs
B) Resolve looks only at the highest RAM card, so it's like having 4 gigs
C) Resolve is limited by the lowest VRAM card, so it's like having only 2.5 gigs, and the operation will fail.

This is not explained in any way shape or form in the config guide or in any Resolve documentation, or anywhere in this forum I could find.

If you stick to the config in the config guide you wouldn't be mixing cards. Effectively the cards behave at the lowest common denominator. So 2.5GB.

Really, the GTX 680, Titan / Titan Black and soon to be Titan Z are the only consumer cards for 4K. My Titan Black kills it with F55 4K, no expansion chassis but booster power supply. Will be trying 2 Ti Black, one internal, one external in the near future and will report back.

Really? What about something like a 280x 6gb?

Good Point. I am CUDA based so that's how I think. Any benchmarks on this 280?
