If you have been able, how much GPU RAM do you have?

Does it look at total GPU RAM, or just the amount in the first compute card?

Does using the same card for compute and GUI make a big RAM difference?

Timeline resolution does not seem to make much of a difference - just source resolution.

How much GPU RAM does your Titan have? I could be mistaken but I thought it came in several RAM amount variants.

Also:

- Are you able to use a Titan safely in a Mac Pro?

- Are you able to set search area up to 2 frames (over default 1)

- Have you tried Dragon footage? (6K)

- Does the Titan work well with any RAM-instensive OFX plugins you might have tried?

Thanks for your replies! Much appreciated!

Titans come with 6GB. If you want to be safe go with the K6000 which has 12GB. As far as inside the MacPro... doubtful without extra power. I use em in a Cubix.

Have tried with dragon. Works there too.

Thanks Juan! And thanks everyone!

As for external power just for the cards, anyone have a good solution?

I got a Corsair for my GTX 780, and that's been working well once I figured out how to make it do it's thing (the saga and solution are found here: http://forums.creativecow.net/readpost/277/28464, with repeated gratitude to Clark Bierbaum). I have the TX650M, which is a tad overkill for just one GPU, but at only $100 it's a hefty bit of peace of mind. If you're looking to power more than one, you may want to research further to see if this one will suit your needs, or if another is better for you.

The rest of you--what's the word on the Tesla? I just learned they existed.
