CTL in Davinci Resolve

Dear Everyone,

I want to get into ACES in Resolve. I went to Canon http://bit.ly/Jw069b to download the software to give the CTL file for the IDT. But how can I get the IDT/CTL into Resolve.

Greetings,
Jeffrey

Jeffery,

idt for different file formats are already available in resolve.to apply to the entire timeline go to lookup tables and select the input device transform section and odt for the colourspace you are grading on.
if you have multiple file formats select different file formats in the mediapool and apply the respective idt there.
remember to change the yrgb to aces in settings.
i think there should be a better explanation in the manual though not sure .

ACES is covered on pages 270-272 of the November 2013 manual. What it says, though, is:

-------------------------------------------------------------------------
"When you choose the ACES color science, two additional settings become available in the Look Up Tables panel:

... Red/Alexa/Canon 1F/5D/7D/Sony F65: Each listed camera has its own transform in this list that is specific to that camera's sensor."
-------------------------------------------------------------------------

My interpretation of that is that you have to use the IDT's provided by Blackmagic, and I assume they're standardized. No doubt Peter C can add more.

Resolve uses pure math for its ACES transforms, not LUTs so the IDT, RRT and ODT are set in code. This way they are more accurate.

You can of course use a LUT if you wish in YRGB colour science if you wish.

Hello Everyone,

Thank you for your responses. But I will explain my message above a bit differently.
I have C300 footage, but I do not see "C300" in the Aces list of IDT's. I see the C500 and many others, so what I did is visit the Canon site and found the link I posted above.

How do I get The "C300" into that list of options.

Greetings,
Jeffrey Levenstone
