Red Proxy workflow with Premiere CC
on Sep 13, 2013 at 10:33:37 pm

I've generally worked on red projects that are mainly edited natively inside of premiere, because of the size of this project and lack of a red rocket card, proxies will be a lot cleaner overall. I didn't locate a current whitepaper on how it's done, can anybody point me to the right place?

Usually you render proxy files from Resolve or Redcine out so that the original filename stays intact and timecode is not altered.

Then you work with those files and after edit is locked you can export edl or xml to import in Resolve for final grading.

Generally it is really simple if you get hang of it.

If your machine it powerful then you can edit even without proxies and just turn down your
display render quality to get playback but needs cs5 6 or cc.

Most of the time we here do not make proxy on red files anymore.

So you should get general idea from here i hope.
