Resolve 9.1.1 crashing on source render
on Feb 10, 2013 at 6:35:44 pm

Just been rendering in source mode in Resolve 9.1.1 and it always seems to crash without an error report. If I were to render clip by clip it all seems to be ok. Any pointers?

- Rendering mixed files from an FCPX XML 1.2 on one timeline.. R3D, Prores etc.
- Resolve 9.1.1
- OSX 10.7.5
- CUDA Driver 5.0.36
- Quadro 4000 (GPU)
- Radeon HD 5770 (GUI)

Thanks.

Which format and resolution are you rendering to?

[Alex Frankland] " it always seems to crash without an error report."

How does it crash? Does it freeze up or exit?

One thing to check is your file names. If there are any HTML or directory/path characters, it will cause problems similar to what you are describing.

Also check to make sure there are no spaces (%) in the filenames.

There doesn't seem to be any spaces in any of the file names.

Do you have any "/ <>~%^*+=}{][/€£¥•@"' in the file names? Do you have a slug clip in the sequence?

I had a problem file on my timeline that resolve didn't seem to like from the XML. Therefore I disabled it and replaced it with another file on the track above. I suppose I should completely delete the problem file?

Ps. Big fan of your coloristos podcasts :)

Yes, remove the clip from your sequence.

Glad you like the podcast. :)

Resolve just completely exits. No freezing whatsoever. There also doesn't seem to be any HTML or directory/path characters etc. What's strange is that rendering as a single clip seems fine. The problem is in source mode.
