Resolve 9.1- Missing Avid MXF Codecs in Deliver?
on Jan 19, 2013 at 10:01:26 am

Hi Guys,

We seem to have lost most of the Avid MXF codecs in "deliver" in 9.1. All the Avid codecs are 1:1 only, which takes up a hell of a lot of space. I'd like to use resolve to output proxies in dnxhd 36, or other codecs that were available in 9.0 and below.

Is this an oversight? Or were these codecs removed permanently?

Thanks

John Burkhart

Hi John,

This is a bug which affects the Lite version only, and on the Mac platform only.

We hope to have a fix available soon.

Regards,
Rohit

[Andrew Stone] "I see all the DNxHD MXF codec settings on Windows 7 in Resolve 9.1"

Full, or lite? I generally test new versions on one of our dailies transcoding machines, which run lite, so I haven't installed the full version of 9.1 yet.

Uninstalled, reinstalled, and now they show up. Weird.

I tried reinstalling but DNxHD 36 deliver option is still not there, is there a workaround, I was looking for 9.0 version but can't find it anywhere, does blackmagic give us an option to download an older version of resolve lite? maybe this problem won't be an issue in an older versions.

For some reason BM keeps old versions of Resolve under "Drivers" software. It's been this way forever. Can't you guys at some point take care of it?

Rohit, I'm on a mac using resolve 9.1, and I find I can't even link up with any MXF media so as to load an aaf, or get the media to the media pool. When I open the folder within Resolve, it appears empty instead of seeing the MXF36 files that are stored there (which wasn't a problem with 8). Is this also part of the bug you mentioned for which a fix is being made?

Thanks,
Ted

Yes, it looks like you can't read MXF's from the missing codecs either.
