iPad control surface for Resolve

I'm working on an app that connects the iPad to the computer and displays a control surface specific to each program. Essentially a more accessible version of the $1000-$30k control surface. I've started with the basics in FCP and Premiere (http://kck.st/RIWgN4), but am new to Resolve. I've started with the 3-way color wheels and have rough control of them, but what would you like to see? What features do you wish you had? Macros? One-touch presets?

*I know control surfaces are all about tactile control and iPads don't offer much in the way of tactile sensitivity, but I think one can maintain the goal of keeping your eye on your footage through gestures that can be done anywhere on the screen. (ie. two finger slide left and right shuttles through footage, two finger swipe up adds a node). And hey, it'll cost less than a $1000!

How are you interfacing with Resolve? There is no way for third party developers to hook into the resolve control API for the color wheels etc..

I was able to do it through the controlling the mouse, similar to what this person did (http://www.reduser.net/forum/archive/index.php/t-68603.html). It's certainly not as elegant or reliable a solution as I would like, but it was a good place to start to demonstrate the potential of an iPad console.

I would like to talk with Davinci about partnering and going through official channels (if you're reading this Davinci, send me a message) when I start making a real console for Resolve.

Do you use a hardware console? Do you think an iPad could come even close?

If you'd like to get in touch with them the best place is davincihelp@blackmagicdesign.com

I use the DaVinci control surface at work but I always thought an iPad app would be usefull for on set.

Can't wait to see how you get on :)

I think if you could come close to what the Elements provide today you have a market.
I need (in that order) Color controls, Curve controls, Size controls and keys.
Navigation is done much quicker with a pen, but versioning would be nice.
As with all tiny devices, you need more than one.
Even with all the Elements on my table, I wish I had a second set.
Dedicated LOG controls and less menu changing.
I suggest you go and visit a Resolve dealership that has a real board and spend some time with it.
Its unmatched in functionality and ease of use.

A slice of color...
