How to add padding to a filename variable
on May 17, 2012 at 5:50:05 am

Hi guys,

Is there any way to add padding to one of the several variables in Resolve?

We are using the 'Clip Number' variable to create unique filenames similar to the Alexa format of (ReelNumber)(ClipNumber)_(date)_(camera).mov. But because the clip numbers in Resolve are stored as 1 rather than 001, it means that clip 10 has an extra digit in the filename compared to clip 1.

Other systems allow an extra % on the variable to determine the amount of padding. These variables are really handy, but we need to be able to add padding to make them practical.

Anyone have any tips?

Cheers,

Steve
