There should be a new "Web Driver" posted by Nvidia shortly, don't update before you hear about this and CUDA all working together.

Give me a few minutes, I am going to try to fix the driver kext.

OSX 10.7.4 breaks the "MAGIC " support.

I have a feeling that Nvidia will release new drivers for 10.7.4 soon, but until then I will figure out and post a fix.

EDIT: OK, here is a quick fix. This will enable the driver to include GTX570 and GTX580.

I will do one for GTX560 later on.

If you were using the ""self init" feature, you will also need to install ATY_Init from Netkas.

If you had one of our EFI cards, this should do it by itself.

You will need to use Kextdrop or Kexthelper to install this once you unzip it.

4109_nvdagf100hal.kext.zip

If you are using an EFI card, you will have one screen still functional to "see" from while you install this. If you were using the "Magic" feature, the card will be black as night until you install this fixed next AND ATY_Init.

If you were using Magic Drivers to run a GTX4xx card, you don't need this fixed kext, just ATY_Init.

Anyone has tested, is very curious because 10.7.4 in mbp runs super fast, first time it does with lion.

with the last nvidia drivers is again everything working ok ?

Even with Nvidias latest driver update 10.7.4 broke OpenCL support for Nvidia cards.

I downgraded to 10.7.3 from TimeMachine backup -> Apple mail stuck while (forced) re-import of my mails, so I had to rebuild my 10.7.4 system from the backup I did before downgrading. Thanks Apple: great user experience! :(

The OpenCl fix is pretty much same as before.

David,
I have a GTX 580 from Macvidcards and I am wondering if I need to update the NVIDIA driver or not.

Would it be a good idea to install the
NVIDIA driver version: 295.00.05f02
on OS X 10.7.5?

I don't want to screw anything up.
Thanks in advance

So does the new nVidia drivers get back the same magic functionality as in OSX 10.7.3?

I've got a new Mac Pro waiting to get set-up, and a GTX 580 in the mail...

BTW: How is it with the 6-pin mini power connector to 8-pin plug. Any suggestions for a nice cable?

The PC version of GTX 570/580 both seem to work with the new driver in 10.7.4. Same as 10.7.3.

Hi Rohit,

Can you tell me if you're getting a boot screen (Apple logo) when you boot up under 10.4.7 with the new Nvidia driver?

Thanks.

If you're not using an EFId card (from macvidcards) and your monitor is connected to the 570/580 card, you will not see a boot screen. Only work on cards running efi firmware.
