Hi Margus,

nice, but due to the blanks it seems that the link doesn't work?

I will put up both version then.

For me on Chrome on mac it worked perfectly if you copy pasted the whole url.

Here is with no spaces.

Hi.

I have 4000 as gui gpu and 470 as resolve gpu and i get something like this:

V1 2 nodes : 24 fps
V2 4 nodes : 24 fps
V3 6 nodes : 22 fps
V4 12 nodes : 12 fps
V5 NR 4 : 24 fps
V6 NR 4 : 19 fps
V7 NR 4 : 9 fps
V8 NR 4 : 2 fps

I tested on 10.7.3 and with 6 gig ram. Mac Pro 5,1 dual 6 core @ 2.93 ghz.
Sasha got a bit better results but i think it is something to do with my ram being only 6 gigs.
Generally my system is the same he does but he got a bit better results.

You probably should change those 4000 as they are not as fast as one would think.
You probably have seen here daily about 5xx series and probably 6xx series gpu's.

Don't be sorry Sascha, those numbers are just THE good reason to get the 3x gtx680 next friday !!

From what I can see from previous post, there is not much difference between a double and a triple quadro 4000 setup... I knew our setup wasn't that powerful but I thought the third 4000 was making a bigger difference.

No particular problem running those flashed 470 card?
Also, with the recent break in nvidia support (10.7.4 beta update), would you buy a pc gtx580 or 680 anyway or you would stick with flashed cards?

Id like to run this on my windows box with 3 gtx 580's and a quadro 4000, but i can't get it to import into resolve.

Gives me the error "failed to open archive!"

Is it not possible to open mac resolve projects on a windows resolve box?

Thanks

Just to be sure here, all i did was import the project and hit play for each version..not adjusting any project or playback settings or is there something i need to know in order to do this test correctly?

V1 2 nodes : 24 fps
V2 4 nodes : 24 fps
V3 6 nodes : 24 fps
V4 12 nodes : 12.5 fps
V5 NR 4 : 24 fps
V6 NR 4 : 19 fps
V7 NR 4 : 10 fps
V8 NR 4 : 3 fps

I plan to upgrade to a 580 or 680 in order to maximize performance on my MacPro and allow for rendering beyond 2k as well which is not possible because of the low ram on my current 470.

Thank you for posting this up!

no this is as it is intended. no adjustments.

I'm thinking of hd or 4k candle as some people have to fast gpu configs :)

I will see if i get material what i can distribute.

Hey Magnus,
The idea is not to use 4K material but to make a 4K project and do the GPU work on 4K
playing the media is too dependent on other criteria.
But I agree, some 3x580 might want to double the amount of nodes ;)
Thats all it does actually, give you more of them , it wont play faster.

Yep totally agree.

My point was just to not have those insane 120 node results coming up with beefy configs
like with 3d mark etc.

Hi Guys,

Just testing out my system :

12 Core Mac Pro
3x580's

V1 2 nodes : 24 fps
V2 4 nodes : 24 fps
V3 6 nodes : 24 fps
V4 12 nodes : 24 fps
V5 NR 4 : 24 fps
V6 NR 3 : 24 fps
V7 NR 2 : 24 fps
V8 NR 1 : 12 fps

As Rohit said previously also you can get 4 nodes of noise reduction at NR 4 too.

I'm a happy dan with my new system!
