Really need Lock & Load?

I've used Google translate, sorry for mistakes...

The only advantage of this product only in the speed of analysis. In comparison with Apple SmoothCam, this has the same shortcomings. For example camera flashes or foreground people passing by cause artifacts. Symptoms are the same - the image twitches or short attached to moving objects. Unlike Apple SmoothCam, "L & L" does not support playback at medium and low quality. Is very important for HDV material, which should play in real time. Apple SmoothCam allows playback of HDV in real time. Lock & Load requires rendering because playback is jerky.

The best stabilizer is ProDAD Mercalii, it very fast, works in realtime with HDV and has no Apple SmoothCam (and L&L) shortcomings exept two: only for windows and it does not support tilt compensation. It is very sad.

Thanks for yours work, but it still not perfect yet.

Hi, We believe that Lock & Load has several key advantages over smoothcam. First, it only analyzes the sectiop of the clip between your in and out points. Smothcam analyzes the entire length of the media so if you've captured 1 hour tapes its not very practical.

Second, in our testing smoothcam will often give "too much motion" errors on clips with complex foreground motion. Lock & Load can often get a good track on clips which smoothcam fails on.

Of course we can still improve Lock & Load and if you send us the clips that you are seeing problems on we will look at them and try and work out if we can compensate for the artifacts you are seeing.
