Optical Glow Across Has Issues with Alpha Channel

I love the Optical Glow Across filter, but if I apply it to a graphic or Title 3D element, I still get the effect but it darkens the graphic and adds what looks like a soft shadow all around the clip. I've worked around this by duping the clip and using the Alpha Matte mode to clip this shadow off, but I shouldn't have to do that.

Final Cut Studio 2.

Thanks.

Nobody else has had this issue? How about a CoreMelt reply? Can't seem to ever get a reply from them. Nice support.

Hi, I looked into this and I haven't been able to reproduce this problem. Please try making sure you have the latest version from our website. In the latest version Optical Glow Across has an option for Glow Effect "Color Only (Best for Video)" or "Color + Alpha (best for text)".

You the second option on images with an alpha channel and it should be fine. If you still have a problem then please email us with your system profile and graphics card details support at coremelt dot com
