what is the maximum nr of pics i can use in image flow?
on Oct 24, 2010 at 6:52:40 pm

hi, i just downloaded the plugins pack and am trying to use it to make a documentary whereby pics flow in stand still a few secs and then move on replaced by the next. when i drag a generator into the timeline in final cut pro (6.06) the timeline can not be made longer than 1 min and if i have say 50 pics in a folder, only 5 get shown. what am i missing?

is there not a way to just say i want all pics in a specific folder to play using the following animation whereby each plays for x amount of seconds?

many thx
fj

Hello,
which ImageFlow plugin are you trying?
Can you please tell, what's your graphics card and how much video memory it has?
Also, what's the size (width x height) of your images?

Regards, Eberhard

hi eberhard,

thank you for the response

i am using a nvidia 7800GT 256MB on a quad core G5 2.5Ghz. the Mac is not intel but it is the fastest G5 there ever was so i hope this is not the problem? (the application did crash several times when i attempted to use an image well for the pics instead of the folder)

the plugins are the Imageflow (ImageFlow FX V2 2.37)
the images have all been optimized for Full HD as such i believe h 1556 x w 2048
portraits aspect i have set to "scale to height"

the process, i drag the video generator from final cut effects into the timeline (as per the tutorial) then i assign the folder of images and adjust the parameters.

hope you can help

thx
frank

What is your OS version?
You mean the problem occurs with any ImageFlow plugin you try?

Can you please check for possible error messages in the log file?
To see the log file open the Console app in the utility apps folder and choose "All Messages" from the table on the left.
Then apply an ImageFlow plugin, choose an image folder, and see if there are any error messages written.

yes, it happens on every plugin i use.

however i won't be able to get back to you with the log file info until this evening (later) as it's on my other work station. i also have a crash window message that i saved.

thx

ok i've checked the log file from yesterday and just tried it again. there are no error messages in the log file.

i had a few crashes of FCP and from those i would get the following popup message

"The application Final Cut pro quit unexpectedly. The problem may have been caused by thw VTwinFx plug-in"

You find the crash logs when you open the Console app and goto Files->~/Library/Logs->CrashReporter in the protocol table. There look for the FCP logs.
