If ever there was a case for shooting progressive...

I'm watching a live feed of the inauguration from the NPR website (that's right, Mr. Spock, I'm watching TV from a radio website on my computer!), and it's interlaced. Looks like doo-doo. This is clearly a case for progressive scan! Who do I call?

I tried watching it on C-SPAN but got this message:

Luckily MSNBC had slightly more bandwidth available, however you had to sit through an Audi commercial in order to view the live feed. Nothing like having TV coverage of the American Inauguration sponsored by a German car company! That's capitalism.

Of course while I was trying to find a working live feed after C-SPAN failed, I actually missed the Oath of Office, but caught the speech.

Most entertaining was watching the CSPAN feed of the camera covering the dignitaries exiting the Capitol onto the dais. The mic picked up all of the small talk, including this gem:

Pres. Bush to Dick Cheney (in wheelchair):
Heck of a way to travel. Heh, Heh.

Dick Cheney:
Yes Sir.

Yeah, NPR's picture kept freezing, but the audio played on (I wonder if that says something about TV on the radio on the computer?). I heard, but didn't really see the oath of office for Obama, but Biden was flawless.

Love that little interchange between Bush & Cheney!

Yeah, honestly, after watching this on numerous feeds throughout our facility, reading twits about IT guys complaining that the streams were bringing down their networks, I tuned in the MSNBC HD and thought "maybe broadcast television DOES still have it's place."

Definitely food for thought!
