time estimating

hey guys, I always wonder if there is a way to estimate how long it's gonna take to edit a movie?
for example when you get a 30 minutes documentary to edit and the director asks how many days do you need to finish it, how do you calculate that?
what about drama?
how long would you give for editing the story
fine cutting
color correction

thanks

Sounds like a week.
When quoting, I add the hours or days it otta take then just double it. Having the client in the room make it take exactly twice as long.
unless they bring thier client.
