Hey, I saw a whole bunch of movies! ...But... SHOULD YOU...?
2018 hasn't really been all that spectacular so far in terms of tons of really great movies coming out. There's been a handful. But it seems like I'm going to the theater less this year, simply out of not wanting to see anything in particular every week. Oh well. I'll give some quick gif reactions and throw a recommendation for everything I've seen since the last time I did this (https://forums.creativecow.net/thread/267/8239)... which looks like it was right after I saw A Quiet Place in April...
AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR
Recommend? Yes, but I assume you've already seen it, right?
Recommend? It was better than it had a right to be.
Recommend? I think I liked it more than the first one? Or it's at least equal to it, in my opinion.
Recommend? I guess, just to see every Star Wars movie. I'm not jumping to see it a second time, though.
Recommend? It's slowly paced, non-jump scare indie horror. Most people will hate it. My wife did. ...I thought it was decent.
Recommend? You won't get a recommendation from me, but I also wasn't a huge fan of the first one. I kind of thought it was boring. Though, I'm sure the majority of people who saw this enjoyed it.
Recommend? Yeah, sure. I'd watch it again. It has likable characters with good chemistry and a story that is better than most throwaway comedies.
JURASSIC WORLD: FALLEN KINGDOM
ANT MAN AND THE WASP
SORRY TO BOTHER YOU
Recommend? It's too weird for most people. I liked parts of it, didn't like other parts. I guarantee that you won't see the third act coming, though.
Recommend? It's interesting. Sure. It's got a guy from Hamilton in it if you're into that.
UNFRIENDED: DARK WEB
Recommend? This is way better than I thought it would be. (still only like a B- though)
MISSION IMPOSSIBLE FALLOUT
Recommend? A month after seeing it I still remember the great final action scene. I don't remember much else about it though.
Recommend? If you're into B movies, sure.
THE HAPPYTIME MURDERS
Recommend? Definitely not. Horrible pacing, and most of the jokes fall flat.
Recommend? Yes, very entertaining. Good alternative to the "takes place entirely on a computer" genre if you don't want to see Unfriended: Dark Web.
What else is coming out for the remainder of the year? BRING OUT THE ENTHUSIASM METER.

Nice recommendations Scott. It is hard to follow the upcoming movies when your are knee deep in work. I will definitely check out all of them. Looking forward for the Fantastic Beasts too. I never imagined that J.K Rowling will introduce the young Dumbledore ever. 😂
