I am amazed a what I'm watching here in the Netflix reboot of the 60's camp TV show.
All the characters are wildly different from the originals, and they now have depth, intention, and interesting backgrounds.
Smiled at Billy Mumy's cameo appearance. Worked well.
Parker Posey's take on Doctor Smith beats all the TV and movie versions to date. A real creepy, psychopathic villain that makes your skin crawl and makes you want to warn all the cast members.
The Robot doesn't talk much; he's kinda like Hodor, only with the one catch phrase from the original show everybody of any age knows. His origin and backstory are very different and complicated here, and that's a major story line in itself.
I'm up to the episode where the writers decided to blend the stories of Abraham and Isaac and Old Yeller. Can't say any more without spoilers, except that I have found this new show highly engaging. One of the best things this year.
