I saw the new Jeff Bridges country music film Crazy Heart over the weekend. It was really good! It's kind of like Alice Doesn't Live Here Anymore mixed with The Wrestler. I'm not a big fan of country music, and that goes to show how good it actually was, I didn't have to like country music to enjoy this film which is mainly about country music (kind of how you didn't have to like wrestling to enjoy The Wrestler).
The acting is really the best part probably, as the plot had several elements of predictability. But in the end it was a brilliantly simple film that made the right choices 90% of the time. I'd definitely recommend seeing it if you're into the whole "broken down man" character study genre of movies.
And while I didn't run home and download the soundtrack after I saw this, I generally ended up not minding listening to a little country for the 2 hours I was in the theater.
