Quantum Leap

Quantum Leap is free on Hulu so I watched a few episodes. I was surprised at how much of the episode I remembered before I watched them. I haven't seen the show since it originally aired. I have good memories of my family gathering around the TV and watching the show. I'm re-doing the sprinklers in my backyard which has been a lot of work. Why can't Sam leap into me and finish my sprinklers for me? Also, in the pilot it looked like Al had a see through iPhone. He must have to hit it a lot because the 4G network doesn't time travel well.

I feel like this is a show I should have watched, but never did.

I was very briefly PA on a fan film revival of Quantum Leap. It was not good.

Quantum Leap feels like a show that will get re-made like Hawai 5-0 or Knight Rider.

Yes, but let's hope they do better than the new Knight Rider. Maybe we should put the resources together and pitch it to Syfy... ;)

Save early. Save often.

Awesome! Great show. That show always had the best intros/outros. Such a good idea for a TV series.

Must be AT&T. I hear Verizon is great for time travel.

I never felt great love for Irwin Allen's The Time Tunnel or Quantum Leap, because it was so formulaic.

Insert yourself into an Edith Keeler Moment and feel tormented about the choice you have to make, then a sudden twist shows your "wrong" choice was the inevitable right one. For a show about how you could change fate thru time travel, did they ever REALLY change the outcome of ANY major past event? Or just inconsequential details around it's margins?

it gave Bakula the chance to play a wide range of characters, is the best I can say for it.

Bakula? Nimoy? They had nothing on Imogene Coca.

Note that the episode in these credits was directed by Richard Donner!!!

Tim,
That sounds like the Gilligan's Island Theme song:

Sounds like they both have a simular theme as well, lost wondering if they will ever return....Rescue from Gilligan's Island...oh my.

Richard Donner also directed episodes of my favorite segment of the "Banana Splits Show":
"Danger Island!"

I don't have much to contribute to the conversation other than I used to watch this in syndication when I was a little kid, and I only remember the episode where he had to go into the body of a chimpanzee, and he saved some guy from drowning, and he broke protocol because chimps weren't supposed to be able to swim. Cool story, Scott.

[Stephen Smith] "That sounds like the Gilligan's Island Theme song:"

Good catch! Both shows, and both themes, were by Sherwood Schwartz, who later also brought us The Brady Bunch.

Ziggy says there is a 97 point 5 percent chance you are wrong. :-)

Ziggy's schtick was to always be right, but about the wrong thing: to make a prediction that was usually a red herring at first, due to gaps in information or a misconstruing of the available information.

Later, with additional data Bakula brings to the situation, the problem usually works out in a different way. And now, what Ziggy "thinks" makes more sense, or is totally negated, to serve the outcome of the story.
Would you " Leaper" fans concur with that assessment?
