Vulture had a funny post about James Cameron finally putting to rest the common complain that Jack could have also fit on the Raft with Rose. I find it pretty comical that he finally responded 15 years later, like it was eating away at him for a long time or something.

http://www.vulture.com/2012/09/cameron-knows-both-jack-and-rose-couldve-fit...

“It’s not a question of room; it’s a question of buoyancy. Jack puts Rose on the raft, then he gets on the raft — He’s not an idiot; he doesn’t want to die — and then the raft sinks. So it’s clear that there’s really only enough buoyancy available for one person. So, he makes a decision to let her be that person.”

This controversey is going to be settled on an upcoming episode of "Mythbusters". Anything to get Kari in a wetsuit again, I guess. I stopped watching after the horrifically bad "airplane on a treadmill" episode.

Apparently James Cameron is working *with* the Mythbusters people to defend the ending. Which only further leads me to believe that this controversy has been driving him crazy for 15 years.
