I watched the Mighty Macs at the theater and enjoyed it. It is based on a true story about a woman hired to couch the basketball team for a tiny Immaculata College. The all woman's school doesn't care about their team and just hire her because they want the girls to work off their hormones. It is during 1971 so there is a woman's right feel to the movie. Of course the team no one believes in turns heads when they start kicking butt.
If you have seen any sports film you have seen this one. However I did enjoy the Nuns aspect to the film. But they should have done a better job of add tension as the team started winning and adding higher stakes as they progressed instead of they just want to win.
You don't see sports movies like this expecting anything new; you see them for the excellence and creativity in their execution. Kind of like people who see "Swan Lake" over and over. You know the story and you know the moves, you're there to see how well the dancers perform it.
