Do We Need a Separate Television Appreciation Forum?

We use this board to discuss and dissect tv shows as well as movies. But let's say I want to discuss the set design of Meet the Press or the misguided direction of an awards show or the acting quality on a CW show. Those topics don't really fit here.

Thoughts?

Could just change the name of this forum to Film & TV Appreciation?

Based on the small amount of people who participate in this forum I would imagine that that would just create one more forum for us to check with no or little extra participation. The name of the forum has not stopped us from talking about TV before.

By the way, I thought the forum was going to be re-named "Star Wars Pancakes".

I've thought about calling this forum "I Like To Watch."

I had originally opened the "Now Playing" forum to talk about things we watch, rather than things we make. Now it's pretty much people pointing to their offsite demos and shorts. But it had actually grown out of another forum called Desert Island Disks. That one was killed a couple of years later by the iPod -- why talk about the ten disks you'd take on a desert island, when you're probably taking hundreds of them.

So of all my attempts to create a place for COWs as sophisticated (or at least experienced) viewers, this one comes closest....although rather than posts about how Taxi Driver is actually made up of two different movies, except that they're exactly the same movie, or Jaws as the definitive portrait of the models of modern masculinity, we get Star Wars pancakes and YouTube mashups.

Turns out I'm okay with that too. :-)

I'm with Stephen on this, leave it as it is, fragmentation into highly selective categories will just dampen participation.
