Here's a pointlessly fun way to kill 45 seconds, someone created a flowchart to determine which occupation you'd have in the Star Wars universe.

Looks like I'm a Bounty Hunter! Finally!

Best, most lucrative Star Wars Occupation, with assured security?

Blast door repair and installation technician.

I'd love to make a little featurette with a guy teaching his sone the trade and explaining how much business there is for a competent blast door repair guy.

Best Star Wars occupation: Darth Vader.

One of my two favorite Super Bowl commercials. This was actually released to YouTube and had something like 30 million views before it aired yesterday.

This forum seems to have become the Star Wars History and Appreciation Forum. All the more reason to be forum host!

From the early days of the web, Star Wars Fan Films have been popular. Troops started it all

although one could argue that Hardware Wars was the first

I attempted my own fan film many moons ago, and thankfully, I never posted it to YouTube!!

Presumably the same kids who were making these fan films 20 years ago are now running Madison Avenue - or George Lucas has some good marketing people who have discovered an untapped market for making even more money. Or both.

In response to Mark's Blast Door repair man, here's something similar:

Regarding actual Star Wars occupations here are a few questions:

Presumably the clones died shortly after the Clone Wars due to their accelerated aging. Did the Empire then recruit people to be Stormtroopers? Luke mentions joining the Academy - is this the Imperial Academy where you can learn to become an Imperial officer or a trooper or a TIE pilot?

Jawas are pretty small creatures yet very crafty. Did they build those giant sandcrawlers, or did they scavenge those from another race of settlers?

Ugnauts work behind the scenes on Cloud City. Are they slaves or do they collect a salary? In looking for the correct spelling I discovered a treasure trove of star wars minutiae:

I'll never be bored again. Will have to read from home. Got to get back to repairing moisture vaporators.

Yes...I'm a Death Star Laser Operator.

Tim,
I love that commercial. Simple, creative and memorable.
