I watched Inception for the second time last night on Blu-ray, it was really good on a repeat viewing. I wanted to see it twice in theaters but never got around to it. It's a lot to take in the first time, so it's nice to be able to look at the little things more the second time around. Even with its easy-to-overlook (in my opinion) flaws, it's still a really good movie.
But there was a special feature on the Blu-ray called The Cobol Job. Basically it was an officially released by Warner Bros 20-page comic book prequel to the film, that leads into the first scene. Apparently it was released online a week or two before its theatrical run, I wish I had known about it, I would have read it back then...
I saw it on the gorgeous Blu-ray version, but I'm not sure if it's even on the DVD version. Either way, you can read it for free online right here (with an easy to read moving interface!):
This is the kind of supplemental material I would like studios to release more often for (good) movies. It's a cool idea that contributes to the story, but isn't entirely necessary to view at all. It's extra icing on the cake if you want to have a little more. Well played Inception/Warner Bros/Christopher Nolan/Whoever is responsible for this.
