I'm seeking feedback from anyone that has ever used the 5 pin XLR audio out on the rear of these cameras to loop-thru and do downstream recording of the 2 (assigned) channels of audio available at this point on the camera. Is this full quality?
The reason I ask is that the official designation per manuals of this output is for monitoring. That raises the question of whether a full quality copy of audio will be present on these pins.
(I'm reconfiguring for 2-cam shoots now that non-union network crewing has been cut down one more time - officially, one operator for 2 cameras. A clever cabling arrangement will help simplify setup, and reduce the risks of critical failures on set).
