Hi, I cannot update firmware - button "start" is greyed, any ideas please! I am Mac user.

If it's greyed out that usually means the firmware is current and that no update is necessary. If you tell me your current firmware and driver version (from the Utility) I can confirm..

Hi, thx for answer, my Driver Version is 4.0.1 and fv.v.is 2.450 and my XDCam monitor tells me, I can do firmware update.

so, the button is greyed out or available? if it's raised/available, you should apply the update.

Mac OS 10.7.5, 2x3GHz Dual-Core Intel Xeon, 5GB RAM.
PDW-U1, Driver version 4.01, Current firmware 2.450, Updated version is 2.540, but button start for update is greyed out. What can I do, any suggestions, please!!!!

Try re-downloading and re-installing the driver and utility. The firmware is included and the bundled .bin files may have gotten damaged.

I found the solution:
1. Open Terminal
2. type: sudo /Applications/XDCAM\ Drive/XDCAM\ Drive\ Utility.app/Contents/MacOS/XDCAM\ Drive\ Utility
3. enter your password

Now the XDCAM Drive utility starts with superuser-permissions. You will get some output in the terminal window which you can ignore. The 'Start' button is now available.
This only works if the user-account you are working under MacOS is an admin-user.
