(!) alert is on when shutter is turned off?
on Jun 29, 2010 at 3:40:49 pm

I'm trying to understand this...I have my (!) alert function to turn on when shutter is active. So in 1080i 59.94 with shutter off, the (!) warning is off. But when I shoot progressive...with the shutter off, the warning is on. I have to turn ON the shutter and set it to 1/60 for it to turn off.

Can someone please explain why? I've looked through the manual and found no explanation.

When you're shooting 24P you want to have your shutter set to 180 degrees or 1/48 of a second to emulate film shooting. At 30P you want a shutter of 1/60. The 700 reminds you to turn your shutter on when shooting progressive.

Ok...but isn't the "off" setting for shutter at 1/60th?
