The hole in the viewfinder microphone holder is larger than my Sennheiser MKH 416...what do you guys use to adapt?

They make some rubber spools that increase the diameter. Check with Sennheiser first. In a pinch, we use carefully trimmed gaff tape. This is a short term fix only as the tape glue will eventually become a fluid and then.....

I would do the same thing as Steve... TYPICALLY, the camera comes with a rubber grommet looking thing to achieve this... check the box. If not, MOST mic's do too! If you've lost yours, call your audio equipment dealer too. They can sell you a new one for a nominal fee.

If that's too expensive try tennis handle tape, or something similar... a few wraps of that, and you're set...

Camera came with a rubber spacer that I'm *guessing* is for the mic spacer.

The Sennheiser mic didn't come with any spacer, and I called and they don't make one. I'll probably use some tape to space it out, but it's a pretty large discrepancy in size, so it will be wrapped up pretty big.

Just got back from NAB and found that this:

is what Sony is using on their 21mm diameter microphones to fit in their mic holders.
