5500 downconvert vs Teranex VC100

Does anyone have any data on which workflow yields the cleanest video?
Down-converting HD to SD via SRW5500 or the Teranex VC100. Our experience says the SRW5500 yield is a bit soft. Anyone else experience this? Any input greatly appreciated!

Kind Regards,

Chris K.

We've used the Teranex VC100 and our company owns a VC300.
Either of these models outperfrom the downconvert from the SRW5500.
We did HEAVY! testing between the Teranax and the SRW5500 years ago. Sony lost the battle, easily.
In fact, Panasonic's HD VTR's outperfrom Sony's as far as up/down converting is concerned...

Check out our website if we can help you with any projects. We have a lot of firepower...

Could be a little late for you, but the solution to your "soft" Sony output is a pretty easy fix.
