Revealing Layer Effects
on Nov 9, 2010 at 6:27:12 pm

Hey All
I've got experience with AE and PS, and somehow I've found myself stumbling through the AI world. This is a noob question, but I've applied the roughen edges effect to several text layers. I now want to copy that effect to a shape. How do you display the effects? I'm assuming it exists somewhere (and is probably still editable), I just can't seem to find it!
Thanks
Dane

1. Expand your layers palette.

2. After the objects' name, on the right, you will see little circles. The object(s) that have effects applied will have a filled, greyish circle, the ones don't have effect will have a circle.

3. Hold down Alt, click on the filled circle (which represent the effect(s) applied to the object) and drag it over to the object you want to have the same effect.

And by the way, the effects are displayed in the appearance palette.
