knife and scissors tool ?
on Mar 18, 2010 at 6:17:18 pm

Hello,

I'm new to Adobe Illustrator, and am currently trying to design a logo with text.

I have text that I transformed to compound path and I'd like to modify some letters by cutting, pasting etc. The issue I have is that in my tool bar I do not find several tools that I was indicated to use by the user guide such I Scissors and knife tool. I looked under splice tool by clicking a few second on the button but only the slice select tool in addition to normal slice tool appeared, not scissors and knife as shown on
http://help.adobe.com/en_US/Illustrator/14.0/WS714a382cdf7d304e7e07d0100196...

Where is the place where I can enable those tools ?

Thanks for your attention !

The knife and scissors tools are hiding behind the eraser tool (in CS4).

If you closely look at the image on that link, you'll find it is correct. On the tools panel, from label "H", you'll see a long line going up to the eraser tool.

Also, in the description text, it is correctly showing under "H - Slicing and cutting tools". There you'll see the the scissors and knife is listed under the eraser.
