on Jan 22, 2010 at 7:01:18 am

Hi I'm new to graphic design. I have to set up a file as 100% black for a printer. What does this mean and how do I do it? Please help.

Are you creating the file from scratch or they gave you an existing one? Is it an Illustrator file? You need to provide more info so we can give you detailed steps on how to do it.

100% black means an object's color is k=100 only, no other color values. CMYK black (or rich black), is a mixture of all of the colors, for example: c=73 m=68 y=67 k=89

Does that answer your question?

Yes, thankyou. The file is now correct.
