This probably sounds like a very stupid question to most, but I hardly use Illustrator - making most of my vector art in PS - but CS2 and it's psuedo 3D capabilities drew my into trying out the 30 trial.
Interesting stuff (why oh why has photoshop never implementing ANY simple 3D text creation?!?) but the 3D extrude/bevel filter in Illustrator was running VERY slowly and kept hanging.
Is it very RAM heavy, or Processor heavy in Illustrator?
Just want to know how it works really - I ideally want to be able to create text/logos with some kind of 3D perspective look in photoshop, but there doesn't seem to be a way. I've tried a Lokas 3D maker but that was limited and even slower than the Illustrator filter.
I find this all a bit bewildering...I mean, even my 10 year old Paintbox has *some* 3D capabilities (moving around in 3D space X,Y,Z, etc. and creation of directional solid drops on layers to mimic perspective depth.)
Or am I missing something here?
