seems that nobody can help me

I posted a problem not so long ago, still having problems. I am using Photoshop CS3. I want to make more than one line of text,
on ONE LAYER. When drawing a text-box, and after typing in line one, I press enter, and expect the cursor to jump to the beginning of line two, which DOESN'T happen - it just " hangs ". I then have to conclude the line one text, and go to the text tool again. It seems to make a new layer automatically, and I can type another line. And so forth.
What I DON'T WANT IS MULTIPLE LAYERS each containing one line of text.
What I DO WANT is multiple lines in ONE TEXT-BOX on ONE LAYER.

I just don't understand why this is a problem. My photoshop works well in all other areas. I have checked Preferences, but there's nothing there to help me.

Is there anyone out there knowledgeable enough, to understand why I may be having problems ?

Thanks from Harry

Press "Return" Instead of "Enter."

does not work. All that pressing RETURN does, is to create spaces along line 1.
I simply can't get the cursor to jump to the begining of line 2.

I assume that the RETURN key you speak of, is the Space-Bar. Is that what you mean ?
Doesn't work anyway.
And the Adobe help section says, to press ENTER to go to the next line !! Go figure. Now I'm more confused, but still without a solution.

1- Create a text layer,
2- write at least one word.
3- Then, in the layers window, right clic on your text layer and select convert to paragraph text.
4- Then clic on the text you write at step 2
5- the text box will appear. resize it, it will be multiline.

^That.

Plus, try NOT drawing a text box. Just click with the type tool to set an insertion point.

Also, after entering a return to start a second line, you say your cursor doesn't move down. Have you tried just typing anyway? Perhaps the cursor is moving down, but you have a screen redraw issue preventing you from seeing it. Be sure you have the latest driver for your display adapter installed.

Just drag the box and make it bigger.
