Toxic Green CMYK
on Sep 8, 2008 at 9:13:46 pm

hi guys,
my first post on COW.
im very new to photoshop but my skills have been developing nicely.
a friend of mine asked me to design him a flyer, all is well untill i convert my design into CMYK for printing, my toxic green laser image turns into a pastel shade, and i cant get it even close to the original color, i realise that i wont get it exact, but any kind of vivid green would be good.
help!

That's likely out of gamut

Look into using Pantonne inks for spot color

Thanks for that, sounds good for including vivid colors in my designs. Unfortunatly cost means we cant do this for this project.
Maybe u could suggest a vivid 'in gamut' green that i could use instead.

Or you could just open the color picker in your CMYK document and pick one yourself.

This is not hard... the exclamation point means out of gamut.

Or print in RGB if going to inkjet,
