replacing sheet music white background with something else
on Aug 8, 2006 at 5:51:31 pm

I have a 1 bit black and white png file (black notation on white background)
I want to be able to "lift" the black notation off the white background and put it onto a texture/pattern of my choosing. Can anyone tell me how to do this? I can't seem to make photoshop do anything. If anyone can tell me how to do it with Paint Shop Pro 10, that would be better since I can make stuff happen in that program. =)

You need to select the white background with the eyedropper tool (set to non-contiguous).

Save the selection.

Open the other image you want to use instead of the white.

Select all of the pixels in the new image.

Select the notation image and do a PASTE INTO SELECTION.
