Quick mask mode leaves transparency areas
on Apr 11, 2006 at 5:31:34 am

Hi,

I used the quick mask mode (QMM) for the first time for selection. After i switch back to normal mode the selection is fine, but i copy/past in new canva the picture looks strange with sort of transparency areas here and there.

How to fix that? Or how to better use the QMM to avoid that?

Thanks

You're probably using a brush with a wide feather. That can cause you to end up with some areas where it looked like you had brushed out part of the image, but really some very faint red area was left in QMM. Use a harder-edged brush, or just clean it up after you paste it (this is where the "quick" part of QMM comes from; it's not the most accurate).

Greta Thank you. How do you actually "clean up" the image after paste?

Once you have a look at the pasted image and can see the stray pixels (turn off other layers if necessary), use tools like the Eraser or Lasso to select and/or delete them.
