Why do text styles change their look after being saved?

Hi,

I've come across this problem a few times and its really annoying. I use a text style for my text (I download free ones from deviantart or other sites), but the moment I save my document either as a jpg, tif or png, it changes its look!

In this example the beautiful gold lost its beautiful shine and became sort of dull looking.
The same thing happens if I rasterize a text layer even if the Overlay mode is set at Normal and Opacity 100%.

Here's the text style in PS: https://www.dropbox.com/s/xv53n2n75ji8ikg/Screen%20Shot%202014-12-02%20at%2...

And here it is after I saved it to a jpg, png or tiff:

Why is this happening? How can I keep the look of the text in photoshop also the same after I export it?

Thank you!

Camille

Though I am not sure about the solution but I guess the font is missing. First try to install the font and then see the difference after saving the text.

Thanks for your reply Jannatul, but I don't think this is the problem. I'm using Comic Sans font and it is not missing from my computer.

Sorry not being so helpful. I am wondering then why the text styling has been changing!

Hey can you send me the link to the style you used or can you send the actual PSD file? Also, what version of PS are you using? When you save the PSD file, do you set it to maximize compatibility? Finally, can you list the steps you take or have taken? Just for the text I mean. :)

Hi Jonathan,

Here's a PSD of the text with the style: https://www.dropbox.com/s/ygsj6hb59s0uw5n/type.psd?dl=0
and here's my original problematic document with the text: https://www.dropbox.com/s/3gvbkuy8wdhp3hy/aladdin-page1_problematic-type.ps...

I'm using CS6 on a mac. I turn off maximize compatibility as that just seems to bloat the document size.

Something strange, when I zoomed up closer to my text in my document, it changed and lost its fancy look and became like what it looks like after the save. So I've been zooming up close to it and then increasing the bevel and stroke etc in the style and then when I zoom out and then save the look of it sticks.
Strange.

Thanks
Camille

Well, I'm not seeing the issue you described. Tried clearing the style, recreating it, pasting it, etc. Saving had no noticeable impact. For reference, I'm running PS CC 2014 on a Mac, 32GB RAM, bla, bla, bla.

Might be your machine or CS6... I'm stumped. Only thing i can think is that CS6 needs updating? Sorry I couldn't be more help, but glad to see it's working with some wrangling, tho.
