Batch resizing ONLY if image is Taller
on Jan 9, 2014 at 7:37:39 pm

I have hundreds of image files that I need to resize to 200 pixels tall (and of course constrain the width proportionally.)

However if they are already LESS than 200 pixels high I don't want them touched. I don't want any smaller image enlarged. I want those images ignored during the batch.

I usually use Faststone image for these things, but I don't see an option to ignore images that are less than a certain height.

I don't want to make, for example, a 150 height image to be 200 pixels tall. I need the program (i.e. photoshop) or utility to ignore anything below the height that I have set.

Any suggestions?

Irfanview has a really nice batch function that includes a simple "don't enlarge smaller images" checkbox option. It's fast, has high quality resampling, and options to control how images are scaled down or up depending on the aspect ratio. And many times faster in processing than Photoshop.

Best of all, it is completely free.
