Color Bars for DSLR Monitor

Can anyone here help? I followed Rich Harrington's video:

http://www.nextwavedv.com/quick-and-easy-way-to-get-color-bars-on-your-vide...

But... when I follow his steps in Photoshop and save to my CF card, then take to my 7D AND my 5D it simply says "image cannot be displayed" on my camera.

Any ideas?

Thanks

Make sure you flatten the image.

Also turn off Color Management so you don't change profile

Thanks.. the image WAS flattened... but how do I turn off color management?

When I hit save it asks me what JPEG quality level I want to use and if I should use baseline or progressive... I did not see that option on your video...

Please let me know and thanks for the tips!

Shouldn't ask you for those options... but I'll revisit more soon.

Color Management should be under edit menu

it still gives me the same error.

Can you PLEASE post the image here that you use - either for a 7D or 5D?

Thanks so much!

I know this thread is dead, but I'm having the same issue did you ever figure out a solution?

Hey I figured it out! Just be sure to capitalize JPG when you save it back to the card! Cheers!

Has anyone had any luck making a color bars JPEG for a Nikon D800? I've tried several things starting with Richard Harrington's tutorial. I get the same result - the camera cannot read the image.

For me capitalizing .JPG did not help. I found saving from photoshop in the JPEG Options dialogue box, I set the quality to 12 (Maximum) and changed the format options to Baseline ("Standard").

That did the trick for me on a 5D Mark iii
