Tricks to make text not "float"

I have a picture with a child wearing a bib and am trying to add text to the bib as if ii supposed to be there, but can't make it work. I tried to "stitch" it on, but that looked terrible. Does anyone know of a tutorial or have any suggestion as to how to make text not float?

Google "Photoshop Displacement Map"

All of the vim with none of that annoying vigor.

Thank you very much. I figured it was easy to do, just didn't know how.

or, try making it some medium-dk color and set the layer to multiply. Add a very, very slight drop shadow or even a bevel effect with the 'fill' set to something like 90%
