How are 3D models working when imported
on Sep 2, 2009 at 8:16:02 pm

Just for fun I downloaded a 3D model of the Star Trek Enterprise and wanted to see how it looks in Photoshop. I don't have a true 3D application at this point. When I bring it in though all I can render is the vertices (just a bunch of dots that form the outline of the model form)

Why is this? The author has supplied all the diffusion map files, where I can see he/she painted logos and little windows. The only preset I can use for photoshop is shaded vertices.

Is there anything I can do in Photoshop, to get the image to be whole?

Just click the LIGHTING AND APPEARANCE button and select a render mode from the pop‑up window.

That still does not work in this case. Something is different about the model. I believe the model was developed for a game of some sort. Just to be clear I am working only in Photoshop CS4 Extended. The model was found on the net.
