Help : I can not resize images...
on Aug 27, 2009 at 12:49:31 am

Hi all...

Thank you in advance for your help.

I have an eBook action script and the script works great. At least until I try to put my own images in it.

I'm using CS4 Extended.

The script uses step 1 and step 2.

Run step 1 and it loads the selected design.

My problem is after I load an image, it is the size of a thumbnail and I can not figure out how to enlarge it to the size I need.

I am doing this by going to file, open and selecting my image. Then I use control a, control c and then click on the tab with the script having run step one and then I use control v. ALWAYS a tiny image and I can't resize it.

In the training video, it shows the same thing I am doing but when the trainer loads HIS image (new layer) it is small as well BUT, the handles are there to drag and resize it to the needed size. Even if I try to select only the image I have pasted in, I can not. It selects the entire background with my image on top of it.

I am new to PS so there may be a setup in pref's that I need to do but I can not find it.

May I have some help please?

Thank you for your kind help,
John

Come on guys... this is important to me and I am in a bit of a bind.

May I please have some suggestions on what to try to get images to resize once posted over script background image?

Here are a few pics I put up to give you a better idea what I am talking about:

Thank you,

Can't decipher your script comments, but it appears you want to make an image larger. I usually just select the layer and then hit ctrl-t to transform the layer (handles will appear). You can also do that from the layer menu I believe.
If this is your problem, then I would recommend further discussion in the Photoshop Basics forum.

Pauley.

Try File-Place to get your own image in there. It will load it as a Smart Object. Control T to free transform, put it over your cover, then right click on the layer and choose create clipping mask.

I am kind of unsure as to what your problem is, so if this does not help, please further elaborate.

Good Day
