full scratch disk in photoshop

if anyone knows why this is happening or how i can fix it please let me know :)

computer info:
Mac OS X
Version 10.4.11
Processor: 2.16 GHz Intel Core Duo
Memory: 1Gb 667 MHz RAM
Startup Disk: Macintosh HD

photoshop > preferences > performance info:

available usage: 979 MB
ideal range: 538-704 MB
let photoshop use: 675MB (69%)
history status: 11
cache level: 6

GPU Settings
Detected Video Card
ATI Technology Inc.
ATI Radeon X1600 openGL Engine
Enable 3D Acceleration is checked

You didn't say if your hard drive is full. By default, your scratch disk is your hard drive, so if your drive is approaching fullness you'll get an error. Clear off some space and/or designate an external drive as a scratch drive in preferences > performance.
