Replace color for screen print?
on May 16, 2009 at 2:48:26 am

Ok so I have a design that consists of a bunch of small detailed objects that make up a bigger design like a collage, the design itself is straight white on a black background.

I want to send it to a screen printer but in doing so I want to remove the background (transparent) and change the white to a straight black so it can be burnt straight onto the screen with minimal conversion

Ive tried selecting with magic wand and deleting but im left with a lot of small background inside colours remaining

as for the white Ive inverted before the magic wand step but I know there must be a better way to do this, Ive looked at replace color but I cant seem to get it to do what I want

Any suggestions would be much appreciated

Use Calculations command to create a black and white version of image. Set it to make a new layer.

Watch Cow video podcasts on calculations.

White or Transparent doesn't matter.

You can always invert image.
